The Man Joel Reibert started all this as a way to cope with watching his own grandfather decline slowly. That process taught him so much about living in the moment without regret or reservation; about being grateful for each new day and always following your heart. The project was a way for him to say thank you for all his grandfather has done for Joel and served as a final farewell to a man who has taught him more about life than he will ever realize. Dignity is in the eyes; Beauty is in the details.

The Company After everything that happened with his grandfather, Joel Reibert conceived ak-me as a company to provide families the opportunitues and tools to honor and document their loved ones before they transition onward. Through sponsorships and donations we are able to offer these services free of charge. We are also waiting for approval of our 501(c) nonprofit status, so we can provide you with a tax number very soon. The word "ak-me" means highest level attainable, or epitome. For us, it is less about the achievement of such a high standard, and more about walking a path dedicated to a higher standard. ak-me is about the passionate affirmation of life, coloring outside the lines, and dancing until the very end. Ultimately, it is about Love.
